Stockport County have been charged by the FA after a pitch invasion following their League One play-off semi-final win over Stevenage in May.

The Hatters won 2-0 at Edgeley Park to secure a 3-0 aggregate win over Boro and book a date with Bolton at Wembley, which they went on to lose 4-1.

After the full-time whistle hundreds of fans raced onto the pitch in celebration.

On Tuesday, the FA announced, external it had charged Stockport with breaching rule E21 – failing to ensure spectators do not behave in a way which is improper, offensive, violent, threatening, abusive, indecent, insulting or provocative and/or encroaching onto the pitch.

The club has until 10 October to provide a response.
