Starbucks has added a new customisation and more drinks to its menu – the UK’s first-ever Protein Cold Foam.

The new topping, which landed in stores across Britain today, packs an impressive 15 grams of protein into your favourite beverages.

It is available in two flavours: Vanilla and Caramel, and you can add it to almost any hot or iced drink on the menu.

The protein-packed foam combines whey protein concentrate with sugar-free syrup, creating that signature velvety texture Starbucks fans love.

For those watching their calorie intake, the Iced Caramel Protein Americano is a great option. This lighter choice blends Starbucks’ signature espresso with water and ice, finished with sugar-free caramel syrup and that gorgeous protein cold foam on top.

It’s designed for coffee lovers who want something refreshing without the heaviness of milk-based drinks.

A tall size costs £5.50, making it a solid choice for your morning pick-me-up or afternoon energy boost. The drink delivers all the bold espresso flavour you would expect, just with that added protein punch to keep you going.

Group manager of beverage development at Starbucks EMEA, Sam Henderson, said: “At Starbucks, we are proud leaders in beverage innovation. From pioneering Cold Brew to reimagining iced coffee with our Oat Shaken Espressos and introducing Cold Foam, we’re constantly evolving how customers experience coffee.

“Bringing a great-tasting protein option to our UK menus was a natural next step for the brand, as we continue to develop modern, relevant products that tap into growing consumer demand and reinforce Starbucks position as a pioneer in coffee innovation and quality.”

The launch follows the topping’s standout success in America. If you want something a bit creamier, the Iced Caramel Protein Latte offers a smoother take on the classic, combining espresso with milk and sugar-free caramel syrup before being topped with that protein foam goodness – all for £5.85.

Not a coffee person? The Iced Vanilla Protein Matcha Latte has you covered at £6.50, blending matcha green tea with milk and sugar-free vanilla syrup. Customers can pop the Protein Cold Foam onto virtually any beverage, from their usual flat white to popular choices like the Iced Oat Shaken Espresso.
