St Helens scrum-half Jackson Hastings has been banned for two matches for a dangerous tackle in the defeat at Castleford Tigers.

Australian Hastings, 30, was sin-binned for the tackle on Tom Weaver towards the end of the game at OneBore Stadium and will now miss the games with the top two, Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves, next month.

Castleford winger Semi Valemei has been handed a three-match ban from the same game for unnecessary contact with a player who is injured, in Saints prop Noah Stephens. The Fiji player will now be unavailable until 26 June.

Meanwhile Warrington Wolves second-row forward James Bentley is suspended for his side’s match at home to Hull FC on 5 June for a Grade C offence of dangerous contact in the win over Bradford Bulls.
