The moment music fans have been waiting for is almost finally here – with the release of Spotify Wrapped tipped to be today.
The steaming giant’s annual feature reveals the songs and artists you’ve played the most over the year – regardless of whether they’re cool or cringey.
Wrapped also reveals the most streamed musician across its global userbase of more than 640 million users.
Now, a cryptic teaser video appears to give a major hint which artist has taken the crown.
The clip, posted by Spotify to its Instagram Stories, appears to show beads from friendship bracelets, which fans think is a reference to Taylor Swift.
Swapping friendship bracelets has become something of a trend among Swift fans at the singer’s concerts.
So the new teaser is the biggest hint yet that Swift will be crowned the most-streamed artist for the second year in a row.

Spotify’s new clip shows a variety of beads in different shapes and colours, including hearts, butterflies, leaves and the Spotify logo.
There’s also several letters including most of the ones that make up Taylor Swift’s name, such as T, A, Y, L, R, S, W, I and T.
Fans don’t have long to wait until all is revealed, as Spotify Wrapped 2024 is rumoured to arrive around lunchtime today (December 4).
Spotify Wrapped is described by the Swedish streaming giant as ‘a deep dive into the music and podcasts that defined your year’.
Tailored to each user, it presents users with visual charts of the music and podcasts that they’ve listened to the most annually, while also revealing global listening habits.
Spotify Wrapped began in December 2016, and has been promoted by Spotify every year since.
Wrapped is really a marketing campaign intended to promote Spotify, but it’s gained popularity among users who love to show off their fashionable tastes in music.

Taylor Swift being named as the most-streamed artist on Spotify would be of little surprise, as the Pennsylvania musician has had another stellar year

However, critics have suggested that Spotify users deliberately listen to certain artists so they show up in Wrapped – making the whole experience contrived.
Taylor Swift fans or ‘Swifties’ are even accused of streaming her on Spotify when they’re not listening, helping propel her to the top of the Spotify Wrapped charts.
Last year, one Spotify user who was named in the top 0.001 per cent of Taylor Swift listeners streamed her for a whopping 409,169 minutes or 284 days.
A Reddit user said: ‘Leaving a device playing her catalog on mute, obviously. Taylor Swift fans are quite supportive of Swift when it comes to streaming.’
Unsurprisingly, Spotify Wrapped 2023 named Taylor Swift as the most-streamed artist globally, beating the likes of Bad Bunny, The Weeknd and Drake.
This year marks the the latest Spotify has released Wrapped since 2018 (December 6).
Spotify Wrapped is released a different day every year, which keeps fans guessing and ultimately builds up hype on social media.
Its release around the start of early December each year has correlated with a boost to Spotify’s app store ranking, so the Swedish streaming giant makes a big effort to add to the hype beforehand.
While Spotify is yet to confirm the release date for Wrapped 2024, it has posted a teaser video on X. The video features nine versions of the iconic Spotify logo in various colours and designs
Last week, Spotify dropped another teaser video with the caption: ‘This year contained multitudes. So will your Wrapped. Coming Soon.’
It shows nine versions of the Spotify logo in various designs, which fans interpreted as references to certain artists, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Charli XCX.
Spotify Wrapped tracks users’ listening habits from the beginning of January to the end of October or sometime in November, meaning the last few weeks of the year are omitted.
Therefore, Wrapped doesn’t actually represent a whole year’s worth of stats, despite being touted as the ‘story of your year’.
It also means that you can listen to embarrassing artists to your heart’s content in December, safe in the knowledge that it won’t affect your Wrapped results.
