He famously sang about being Forever Young and so perhaps fittingly Sir Rod Stewart shared a snap of himself as a wide-eyed child to mark his 80th birthday.
The singer took to Instagram to post the black and white photo which showed him as a young boy sitting on a mount of sand and a bucket at the seaside.
The 79-year-old wrote: ‘From the streets of North London to the world stage, it all started here.’
Showing his charm at an early age, the global hitmaker stared into the camera wearing a matching shorts and top with a sleeveless jumper.
The Maggie May hitmaker turns 80 this week and recently acknowledged his ‘days are numbered’ but said he had ‘no fear’ of death.
It comes as Glastonbury Festival announced Stewart is set to perform on the Pyramid stage in the Sunday teatime ‘legends’ slot making him one of the oldest artists to perform in the slot.

The Handbags and Gladrags singer began his final Las Vegas residency after 13 years in August but promised he would continue performing and partying in his 90s.
He said: ‘I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket.
‘I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say a few – probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.’
He admitted: ‘I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that.
‘Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show.
‘But no, you think I just have water on my rider? You’re talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show.
There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians and I make them drink. We absolutely love it.’

Stewart revealed he and wife Penny Lancaster, 53, who he married in 2007, were in ‘tears’ over the sad news.
Writing a statement, Stewart penned: ‘Dearest Richard, farewell, my dear buddy. They say in life a man is lucky if he can count his true friends on one hand, and you were certainly one of them.
‘Now I’ve lost you, and I’m devastated. We played and worked so closely together for so many years, creating some of the most memorable music together.
‘You were there when Penny and I first started dating, encouraging our relationship. We are both in tears as I post this farewell.’
