Sir Rod Stewart has shared a major announcement about his career, leaving fans heartbroken.
The 79-year-old Maggie May hit-maker took to social on Wednesday to share an update about his future singing and touring plans.
Stewart has spoken candidly about retirement in the past, sharing he has no plans to give up his singing career just yet.
However, he has stunned fans this week by announcing plans to scale back a little.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, he shared a post which read: “This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me,” but he reassured fans they haven’t seen the last of him as he added: “But I have no desire to retire.”
The statement continued: “I love what I do, and I do what I love.
“I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.
