Cold Weather Payments are being delivered to thousands of households across the UK as temperatures in certain parts of the country experience sub-zero temperatures going into the New Year.

Households in receipt of certain qualifying benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) could be eligible for £25 in energy bill support if their postcode is hit with extremely cold weather.

However, many families not in receipt of benefit support are unable claim this support despite their heating bills rising in line with Ofgem’s energy price cap.
