Sam Fender has called out the price of gig tickets ahead of his next tour, promising to lower the cost.
The 32-year-old announced his Proper Massive Stadium Tour earlier this week, which will visit Newcastle, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Manchester in summer 2027.
While tickets are yet to go on sale, Fender responded to a post on social media which claimed to outline the expected ticket prices.
The Geordie musician also said standing would not be split into a front and back tier and he had “no idea how this was normalised at gigs”.
Tickets are due to go on general sale at 09:30 GMT on Friday, with a pre-sale at the same time on Wednesday.
But Fender said he was “not happy” with the reported prices.
“They’re getting changed,” he said on Instagram.
“It got inflated well more than I’d had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on.”
The North Shields singer also said he did not want there to be an option for fans to pay more money to be closer to the front.
“The standing will not be split as well, I had no idea about it,” Fender said.
“I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs… it won’t be happening on this tour.”
He is not the first musician to raise concerns over ticket pricing.
Zara Larsson agreed with fans earlier this year that her tickets were too expensive.
The Swedish singer said while she did not have control over the prices, she hoped she would in the future.
