Salford City’s Luke Garbutt has signed a one-year contract extension which will keep him at the League Two club until the summer of 2027.
The defender, 32, is currently in his third season at the Peninsula Stadium after moving from Blackpool in June 2023 and has played every minute so far this term in the league.
He was made captain prior to the start of the current campaign by manager Karl Robinson and has scored three goals and contributed three assists.
Salford remain firmly in the promotion hunt in fifth place, just seven points off leaders Bromley, and Garbutt told the club website, external he is looking forward to building on that platform in the second half of the campaign.
“The balance of the group is good and we’re looking to kick on now. It’s the second half of the season, this is where you start to see who the real contenders are,” he said.
“We’ve got to make sure that we’re in the hunt and in a really good position like we are at the minute.”
