Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick has shown his lighter side in a parody Christmas message.
The 79-second video, seen by GB News, revealed Mr Jenrick has been volunteering with the Newark Pensioners Sunday Roast group.
Mr Jenrick joined the group as part of its push to tackle loneliness at Christmas.
Newark Pensioners Sunday Roast was set up last year following Labour’s decision to strip the Winter Fuel Allowance from nine million OAPs.
Despite Sir Keir Starmer later backtracking on the policy, the group continues to support pensioners across Newark, with more than 100 meals being dished out since its inception.
Mr Jenrick, who donned a Father Christmas hat, started his video outside the venue.
“So, I’m here in Newark, and I’m about to surprise a big group of pensioners at their Christmas lunch,” the Shadow Justice Secretary said.
As the Newark MP entered the venue, he quipped: “Who knows, maybe I’ll make their Christmas. Here goes.”

However, Mr Jenrick’s comical confidence was short-lived, with a room packed full of pensioners delivering a frosty verdict.
The Shadow Justice Secretary bellowed: “Happy Christmas, everyone!”
“Must be elections on,” one man muttered from inside the community centre.
After pulling crackers, Mr Jenrick joined another group of pensioners to participate in the festive staple of some Christmas jokes.

The first joke, delivered by an elderly woman, was met with hysterical laughter.
She said: “What music do elves like? Wrap music.”
However, the same reaction was not afforded to the Shadow Justice Secretary.
“I’ve got one,” the Newark MP excitedly interjected.
“Where does a snowman go to dance? A snowball.”
However, Mr Jenrick was left laughing alone when his witty pun was met with silence from the table and the awkward sound of crickets.
As Mr Jenrick rose from his seat, one pensioner said: “Oh, good, he’s gone.”
However, the Shadow Justice Secretary was not leaving the Newark Pensioners Sunday Roast.

He instead offered to assist volunteers who were busy working away in the background.
“Nice to see a politician actually doing some work for a change,” one volunteer said.
Mr Jenrick helped by washing up mugs and also handed out some meringues.
