Robert Jenrick has called out Labour’s “fake argument” for ID cards on GB News as he slammed that anyone who believes it is in “cloud cuckoo land”.

“I’m very strongly against ID cards,” the Shadow Justice Secretary told presenters Tom Harwood and Nana Akua. “Always have been.

“I don’t want to live in that kind of country, and I think it’s a totally fake argument.

“If anyone believes this is going to stop illegal migration, they’re in cloud cuckoo land.”
