Riley Keough looked calm and composed while out in Midtown Manhattan while promoting her mom Lisa Marie Presley’s explosive posthumous memoir.
The 35-year-old actress put on a brave face amid her book tour for From Here to the Great Unknown, which details Presley’s battle with addiction, marriage to Michael Jackson and decision to keep son Benjamin’s body at home, on dry ice, for two months after his death.
On Thursday, the Daisy Jones & The Six star was seen rocking a white midi dress, black leather pumps and a bright red lipstick after a busy week of appearing on various morning shows, including The View, and a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Her late mother’s autobiography, which Keough completed following Presley’s death in early 2022, is full of heartbreaking and salacious revelations regarding her own life as well as the lives of her ex-husbands and late father Elvis Presley.
On Wednesday night, Keough, who is the granddaughter of the Rock N’ Roll legend Elvis, kicked off her book tour during a stop with Gayle King at Strand Book Store in New York City.

Following the appearance, the mother-of-two shared a video with behind-the-scenes footage of her getting ready for her chat with King.
‘Thank you NYC for a great first stop on the FROM HERE TO THE GREAT UNKNOWN book tour!’ she captioned the post. ‘And thank you to @gayleking for a beautiful conversation about my mother and why she wanted to share her story. It means a lot to hear how much you all love it too.’
Her latest sighting comes after Keough spoke candidly about her late mom – who passed away at age 54 – during her interview with Oprah Winfrey on a special titled An Oprah Special: The Presleys – Elvis, Lisa Marie and Riley.
During the interview, Riley revealed that three weeks before Lisa Marie’s death, she noticed a change in her, noting that she seems ‘detached,’ ‘tired’ and overall just seemed like a ‘tired person.’
The memoir was posthumously released on October 8; Lisa Marie had been working on it at the time of her death. Riley finished the memoir after her passing.
Lisa Marie died on January 12, 2023 at age 54, due to a small bowel obstruction – which was caused by bariatric surgery complications.
She died two days after attending the Golden Globe awards with Riley and Priscilla Presley – Lisa Marie’s mother and Riley’s grandmother.
Oprah asked her about mom Lisa Marie’s final days before her death and how she seemed.

‘The last sort of three weeks that she was alive I was with her a few times that I felt worried. I think there was always sort of an undertone for me because of this feeling that I was on borrowed time with her… there were a couple interactions with her that just felt so different,’ Riley said during the special.
Riley said mom Lisa Marie appeared ‘detached,’ tired’ and ‘resigned’ – as she was reeling from the grief of losing son Benjamin Keough – who died on July 12, 2020 at age 27 by suicide.
The actress noted that she didn’t think it was related to substance abuse: ‘It didn’t feel like drugs – I have a lot of experience with the drugs – it felt like a tired person.’
Riley also spoke out about Lisa Marie opening up in the memoir about her decision to keep late son Benjamin’s body in a guest house of her LA mansion – using dry ice to preserve his remains for two months after his July 2020 suicide.

Lisa Marie also got a matching tattoo as Benjamin amid her grieving process.
Riley said she wanted to get his name and to get a matching tattoo with him on her hand.
When the tattoo artist asked her if she had any photos that would be helpful in the process, Lisa Marie took him to see Ben and his remains.
They had the funeral in Malibu eventually and buried Benjamin at Graceland, where Lisa Marie is also buried – near Elvis, who died in 1977 at age 42 from a heart attack.

The interview took place at Graceland – the famed Memphis mansion her grandfather Elvis bought in 1957 – which has stayed in the Presley family since.
It marked the first in-depth chat Riley has done since the death of Lisa Marie.
