The mother of Rhiannon Whyte, the woman murdered by an illegal migrant, has accused Keir Starmer of ignoring her despite multiple pleas for a meeting.

Speaking to GB News, Siobhan Whyte accused Labour of “not caring” about her daughter’s murder, questioning their apparent “silence”.

Rhiannon, 27, was stabbed to death by illegal migrant Deng Chol Majek in October 2024, who was staying in the asylum hotel at which she worked.

Majek was jailed for a minimum of 29 years for her murder.

Having written to the Prime Minister twice to ask for a meeting, Ms Whyte told GB News that she is “angry” that the Government does not “seem to care” and has “swept it under the carpet”.

“I’m angry. I’m angry because it’s like they just don’t care if everything’s brushed under the carpet,” she said.

“Our Government, Keir Starmer, not one single person has either given me an apology or reached out to me.”

Ms Whyte also revealed that Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips has also failed to reach out to her or her family since a brief “30 minute meeting” right after Rhiannon was killed.

Ms Whyte said: “My daughter spoke to her for literally 30 minutes just after Rhiannon passed away.

“Not a single word since. To be honest, I never want to have to face the woman. I want nothing to do with her.”

Having met with Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp, Ms Whyte praised the “lovely” MP for taking the time to hear her case and her plea for answers from the Government.

She told The People’s Channel: “He was lovely. This isn’t about the politics side of it, it’s about getting an answer from somewhere.

“I don’t want to go down the political side of everything, I just want answers for Rhiannon, myself, family and other families going through this.

“The one person I want answers off is having nothing to do with this.”

Questioned on what she wants to see happen now, Ms Whyte declared that the Government must stop all illegal migration to help stop what happened to Rhiannon happen to other women.

She made clear: “I want all illegal migrants stopped, this is getting ridiculous. Now it’s an everyday occurrence, but they keep allowing it.

“It’s not about the genuine asylum seekers, it’s about the illegal migrants. They have to be stopped.”

Ms Whyte told GB News she has been close to ‘giving up’ on getting justice for Rhiannon

Delivering a message to Sir Keir, Ms Whyte told the Prime Minister: “I want to know why he’s allowing this to happen. He’s allowed my daughter to be taken from me, why is he not stopping this? He just sweeps it under the carpet with Epstein and Mandelson.”

In a statement, a Home Office spokesman previously told GB News: “The murder of Rhiannon Whyte was utterly heartbreaking and our thoughts still remain with her loved ones.

“The Safeguarding Minister has spent her entire career dedicated to tackling violence against women and girls and would always make the time to meet with a victim’s family.

“The Home Secretary has announced the most sweeping reforms to tackle illegal migration in modern times. This will make Britain a less attractive destination for illegal migrants, which will make it easier to remove and deport them.

“This Government is scaling up removals of people with no right to be here, with nearly 60,000 already removed.”
