Suella Braverman has told GB News “the lefty establishment is petrified” of Nigel Farage with his party skyrocketing in the polls.

The ex-Home Secretary explained to GB News star Martin Daubney the elites belonging to the age-old establishment “don’t have to deal with a lot of the world that many of us have to deal with”.

An alliance of campaigners, unions and civil society groups – including the likes of Sir Lenny Henry and Paloma Faith – are working together to dig their heels in against the rise of the “far-right”, which they claim includes Mr Farage’s party.

They announced they will be building up momentum ahead of a major protest on Saturday March 28 next year.

But, now, the party has accused the establishment of plotting to keep Nigel Farage and Reform UK out of power, which the former Home Secretary has condemned.

Commenting on how the civil service appeared to be “up against the forces of the Conservative Party” during her time in power, Martin asked: “Do you think we’re in for the mother of all dirty fights?”

Ms Braverman admitted that she believes that it is a precursor of what is to come.

“The lefty establishment, in all those organisations that you mention, the celebrity class, the elites who don’t have to deal with the real world impacts of illegal migrants staying in their town centres or having to wait 12 hours in A&E.

“They don’t have to deal with a lot of the world that many of us have to deal with. They are running scared.

“They’re running scared because they see the polls.”

Reform UK is currently leading the polls with the latest Survation poll placing Mr Farage’s party on 29 per cent, with Labour lagging behind on 22 per cent.

“They see that the majority of British people are fed up with high tax, high migration and a contempt that the Prime Minister and the ruling classes seem to have for the majority of patriotic Brits, and they are voting with their feet.

“And judging by the polls, they’re voting Reform. And that’s why they’re soaring ahead. And the left-wing establishment is absolutely petrified of this.”

“This would be a disaster for them. We have seen this before. It’s not the first time we saw it,” the MP for Fareham and Waterlooville told Martin.

“With Brexit, the establishment closed ranks and do everything to try and stop the people from voting with their conscience and their heart and their minds. They didn’t win.

“We’ve seen it with Trump in America, the establishment piled on to try and stop him winning. It didn’t work.”

She expressed further hope that people “see this for what it is and keep voting with their feet” in favour of strong borders, law and order, patriotism and a restoration of common sense in the economy.

Ms Braverman added that she believes people can see through the so-called establishment, saying: “You can see that from the recent attempts to smear Nigel Farage and others as racists.

“I don’t think I think we’ve seen it so many times before. You know what the left do when they don’t agree with you? They call you a racist.

“You know, I’ve really seen the effect of it and been on the receiving end. I feel quite strongly about it. It’s such a puerile, unsophisticated character of debate. And it’s wrong.

“But they do that when they have no other arguments to use.”

Cries of racism have been thrown at Reform UK, culminating in Sir Keir Starmer’s most senior Jewish minister, Lord Richard Hermer and Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy urging Nigel Farage to apologise for alleged remarks he made at school – almost half a century ago.

Lord Hermer spoke out after The Guardian alleged that Mr Farage used antisemitic language as a teenager at Dulwich College.

Peter Ettedgui was one of those who accused Mr Farage, as a 13-year-old, of making comments such as “Hitler was right” or “gas them”. Last week, the Reform leader categorically denied the claims.

“I can tell you categorically that I did not say the things that have been published in the Guardian aged 13, nearly 50 years ago,” he said in a statement shared with GB News.
