A woman has taken on the London Marathon while undertaking a clinical trial for an inoperable tumour in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
Jenny Blowers, 38, who is currently receiving treatment for melanoma at The Royal Marsden, spoke to GB News ahead of taking on the endeavour.
“Firstly, I’m so nervous but really excited for it. I feel like all my training is to this moment, so I’m really excited,” she said.
“I’m on a clinical trial for melanoma skin cancer. So I felt it was really important to give back to them.
“I want people to have the same opportunities that I’ve had being on a trial, because it really is saving my life, and I just feel like I want to give back so more people have this opportunity,” Ms Blowes told The People’s Channel.
“I’ve had so much support. Everyone’s been amazing, so good. I’ve raised £3700 so far, and everyone’s been so lovely. Everyone has given so much money, and it honestly gives me a boost to keep running.”
