Pulp have been announced as one of the headline acts for next summer’s Live From Wythenshawe Park gigs in Manchester.

News of Pulp’s 28 August concert comes after a series of acclaimed reunion gigs and the release of More – the indie band’s first new album for 24 years.

Jarvis Cocker, Candida Doyle, Nick Banks and Mark Webber will showcase their new material alongside Pulp’s biggest hits including Babies, Common People and Disco 2000.

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday. Three other Wythenshawe Park gigs – The Cure on 21 August, Lewis Capaldi the following day and Courteeners on 29 August – have already sold out. A few tickets remain for The Prodigy on 30 August.

Wythenshawe Park will be one of very few opportunities for fans to see Pulp perform live in 2026, and the only chance to see them play outdoors in the north of England next year.

Cocker formed the band in 1978 while still at school in Sheffield and led them through many stylistic and lineup changes until they found success in the early 90s.

After taking a hiatus in 2002, Pulp reunited for a series of concerts in 2011 before putting things on hold again in 2013, this time for a decade.

After playing a series of shows across the UK, Europe and North America in 2023, they began working on their eighth studio album, which was recorded in only three weeks.

More reached number one in the album chart in June.

Later that month they played a not-so-secret set before a huge crowd at Glastonbury.
