GB News’ Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker has provided his exclusive insight into the Princess of Wales’s support for a flooded scout group, Prince Harry’s picky food habits and Catherine’s support for British fashion during the recent state banquet.

PRINCESS OF WALES’ SUPPORT FOR FLOODED SCOUT GROUP

The Princess of Wales has shown her support for a local scout group, whose hut was devastated by flooding last year.

Church Riverside Scout Group in Leighton Buzzard has spent months using a neighbouring scout hut while their new home is built.

Nine-year-old Toby Corkett was named “District Cub of the Year” after writing to The King and The Princess of Wales for help.

In his letter to His Majesty, he asked if the Army could come and help rebuild the hut with flood defences.

The cost of rebuilding the scout hut has far outweighed the insurance money paid out, meaning Church Riverside Scouts had to fundraise themselves – they are still about £10,000 short.

After King Charles politely declined Toby’s request, he refused to give up.

He contacted The Princess of Wales, who is Joint President of The Scout Association, inviting her to visit Leighton Buzzard.

The Princess could not find space in her diary to visit this year, but did invite Toby and some of his fellow cubs and scouts to attend her Together at Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey on Friday night.

Toby told GB News: “We got to light candles and see the Princess. I wrote a letter to The Princess asking if she could come and fix our scout hut, and I got an invite to come and do this event [at Westminster Abbey]”.

Paul Casey, Chairman of Church Riverside Scouts, said: “Repairing [the Scout Hut] really wasn’t an option so we decided to fundraise and go for a rebuild. So we reached out to local businesses and said ‘please put your arms around us’ and they have. We’ve had tremendous support.”

PRINCE HARRY’S PICKY FOOD HABITS REVEALED

Prince Harry has made a cameo appearance in his wife’s With Love, Meghan Netflix festive special.
He walked into the kitchen towards the end of the episode, while Meghan was cooking with restaurateur Tom Colicchio.

After kissing his wife on the lips he said: “Hi guys. I smell gumbo.”

Meghan sarcastically joked that her husband would hate the salad she and Tom had just made: “It’s your favourite salad of all time: beets, black olives, fennel, anchovies…”

“…That’s the anti-salad,” Harry joked, “You must have known that I was coming!”

The Duke of Sussex revealed that Gumbo (a thick Louisianan stew containing meat and shell fish) is one of his favourites.

However, he conceded he only liked it before a key ingredient was added.

“Gumbo is one of my favourites. Especially her [Meghan’s] mum’s. Before the fish goes in.”

Meghan teased her husband after lots of spice was added: “I’ll give you a little towel because you’re going to sweat.”

“There’s not many things in the world I don’t like, and you have it all in one bowl!” Harry jokingly told chef Tom Colicchio.

It seems Harry can’t handle his spice very well, or his greens!

Prince Harry’s picky food habits have been revealed.

CATHERINE’S SUPPORT FOR BRITISH FASHION DURING STATE BANQUET

Once again, The Princess of Wales broke the internet with a regal photograph alongside The Prince of Wales, ahead of the State Banquet in honour of Germany’s President at Windsor Castle.

The Princess wore a bright blue floor length gown by British fashion designer Jenny Packham, accompanied by Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet Tiara.

To complete the royal look, Her Royal Highness wore the late Queen Elizabeth II’s earrings.

The Princess of Wales has never worn the Oriental Circlet Tiara in public before, perhaps a nod to its designer: the German-born husband of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert.

Earlier in the day, she wore a black Burberry dress – another British brand – and an Alexander McQueen coat.

I understand The Princess of Wales is making a real effort to champion the British fashion industry, and understands the soft power she wields when choosing her outfits.

To many, pictures of Catherine in beautiful dresses and royal tiaras give them something to smile about.

However, the Princess’s role is so much more than aesthetics for the British fashion industry – which is worth more than £21billion.

In May, The Princess visited the British Fashion Council to present the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.

Laura Weir, CEO of the British Fashion Council, told us during the event: “[The award] shows the investment the Royal Family has in British creativity and I think that is absolutely crucial to the lifeblood of this industry.”

“[The Princess’ support] is really important to us and it’s something we’re really grateful for.”
