Princess Charlotte’s presence alongside Prince William to watch the Lionesses triumph over Spain in the women’s Euros has been celebrated as “perfect”.
The 10-year-old princess attended her first football game overseas alongside her father.
Prince George is usually seen by his father’s side at footballing events, previously joining William as they spectated their beloved club Aston Villa’s bittersweet Champion’s League campaign earlier this year.
This time, however, Charlotte led the next generations of the Royal Family at the St Jakob-Park stadium in Switzerland.

The royal father and daughter duo were present to witness what turned out to be a nail-biting content that saw England finally win on penalties.
During the match, they could be seen happily chatting about the game as William pointed things out to his young daughter.
The pair were also seen covering their mouths in shock during tense moments and erupting in joy as the Lionesses sealed their second European title.
“It was great to see Prince William and Princess Charlotte enjoying some dad-daughter bonding time together at the Euros final,” Emily Nash, Hello Magazine’s royal editor, said.

“We’ve seen William taking George to plenty of football matches over the past couple of years, so it’s only fair that Charlotte gets her turn too.”
“And she’s shown public support for the Lionesses in the past, so it was the perfect event to take her to,” Nash praised.
Charlotte saw with her own eyes the moment the nation’s heart sank when Spain’s Mariona Caldentey made it 1-0 in the 25th minute.
The Lionesses entered the second half still trailing but a 57th minute header from Alessia Russo, assisted by Chloe Kelly, revived the game.

Charlotte and William watched on as the game remained deadlocked at 1-1 through normal and extra time, leading to the fateful penalty shootout.
Following the game, the royal father and daughter issued warm congratulations in an unprecedented joint statement.
“What a game! @lionesses, you are the champions of Europe and we couldn’t be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment @England,” William and Charlotte said.
The heartfelt message was signed off: “W & Charlotte.”

Charlotte and Prince William sent an unprecedented joint congratulations statement to the Lionesses of their win
Along with her presence at the game, Charlotte’s message itself proved to be a royal first for the young Princess.
The use of an initial or name at the end of a royal message usually indicates it has come directly from them, the “W” in this case standing for William.
Charlotte has followed this procedure on previous occasions, adding a “C” to her Father’s Day and birthday messages to William alongside her mother and siblings.
However, the use of her full name on her latest communication may have been an effort from Kensington Palace to avoid confusion.
