Princess Beatrice’s stepson was told he “wasn’t good at art” by a school teacher, according to his mother Dara Huang, who shared a personal message about encouraging children to express themselves creatively.

In a post on Instagram, Ms Huang wrote that her son had come home from school upset after being told he was not good at art by his teacher.

“My son is an excellent artist,” she wrote, explaining that he had been asked to draw something “like-for-like” in class and had then questioned his own ability.

Ms Huang said she reassured him that “there are a lot of different expressions for art” and that his style is “more abstract”.

The mother-of-one added that she wished followers could hear his “little voice”, describing how he talks about his feelings and why he makes certain artistic “moves”.

She called it “the sweetest thing ever” and said she hoped it served as a reminder that everyone has a different way to express themselves and “that’s ok”.

The post was accompanied by footage showing the nine-year-old child painting on a large canvas at home, with art materials laid out nearby as he worked on bold, abstract brush strokes.

The update has prompted fresh interest in the day-to-day life of Princess Beatrice’s blended family.

Ms Huang shares her son with property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who married Princess Beatrice in 2020, making the Princess of York the boy’s stepmother.

Wolfie’s full name is Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, and he is commonly known by his nickname. He was born in 2016.

Ms Huang, an architect, has spoken previously about co-parenting, describing a supportive arrangement in which her son has “two sets of parents” around him.

Her latest post also follows social media updates suggesting the youngster has been splitting his time between the United States and Switzerland over the festive period.

LATEST ROYAL DEVELOPMENTS

In a recent Instagram story, Ms Huang shared a photograph of a mahjong set laid out beside a Christmas tree with the caption “Mahjong in Florida”.

She then posted a separate image showing her son on skis against a mountainous backdrop captioned: “My baby in Switzy”.

The posts indicated that Wolfie had moved on from Florida to Switzerland, while Ms Huang appeared to remain in the United States.

The Switzerland images came amid wider interest in where Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi spent the Christmas period, after some reports suggested travel plans.

Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi have generally kept family arrangements private.

However, Wolfie has been seen at several major royal occasions in recent years, reflecting his place within the wider family.
