Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, has leant his support to former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Sunak had taken to social media to mark Yorkshire Day with a heartfelt tribute to his home county.

“Yorkshire isn’t just where we live. It isn’t just a home. It’s who we are. And we feel so lucky to be part of it,” the former Chancellor wrote.

Sharing a carousel of images, he wished his 3.4 million followers a: “Happy Yorkshire Day!”

The pics showed Sunak and his family hiking around the Dales with their Labrador Retriever, Nova.

Sunak was ejected from Number 10 in 2024 following an electoral wipe out, later stepping down as Tory leader and returning to the back benches.

He continues to serve as the MP for the Yorkshire seat of Richmond and Northallerton.

Evidently, Edoardo was charmed by the former leader’s tribute to his home county and demonstrated his support by liking the post.

While the architect holds no direct connections to the northern English county, Beatrice holds the title of Princess of York which may have influenced his appreciation of Sunak’s comments.

Both Edoardo and Beatrice appear to have been in a similarly patriotic mood this week as they showed their support for the Lionesses.

The couple were pictured among the thousands who gathered to cheer on England’s female footballers after their triumph over Spain in the European Championship’s final.

Edoardo and Beatrice were in the crowds lining the Mall as they watched the Lionesses proceed to Buckingham Palace on an open top bus.

Joining them was Wolife, Edoardo’s son from a previous relationship, and their young daughters, Sienna and Athena.

The day’s outing was the first public appearance of baby Athena since her birth in January 2025.

The infant could be seen strapped into a harness worn by Edoardo as Beatrice doted on her.

Beatrice and Edoardo’s day out proved to be the only royal representation at the parade, which culminated with a trophy lift at the Queen Victoria fountain before Buckingham Palace.

Not to be forgotten, King Charles and Queen Camilla shared a simple social media post that read: “Welcome home, ladies.”

The statement was followed up by a St George’s Cross flag and trophy emoji.

Edoardo and Beatrice’s youngest daughter is 11th in line to the throne, behind her elder sister Sienna, and is the fourth grandchild of the Duke of York and his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York.

The architect announced her birth on Instagram, describing his daughter as “tiny and absolutely perfect”.

The King, the Queen and other members of the Royal family were said to be “delighted” with the news.

Her older sister, Sienna, was born in September 2021.
