Princess Beatrice appears to be making renovations to her annexe adjacent to her £3.5million mansion, which she shares with husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as Sarah Ferguson searches for a new home.

The upgrades to the outhouse include new doors and windows, and planning documents on the council website show that several changes have been made to the property.

Gates have been replaced, and a full “renovation and rewiring” of the annexe has been completed.

The extension was completed by the previous owners, with it being hidden behind a stone wall opposite a row of newly-built bungalows, as revealed by the Daily Mail.

According to neighbours, the outhouse has had a complete makeover, with the stonework being repointed and gutters replaced.

New doors have been installed, and a gas fire boiler has been added.

The source could be an option for Sarah Ferguson, as the former Duchess of York prepares to move out of Royal Lodge, alongside her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The former prince will move to Norfolk on the Sandringham Estate, as the pair are set to live alone for the first time since moving in together in 2008.

A source told the Daily Mail: “It would be perfect for the former duchess as it’s close to her daughter but also completely independent of the main house where Beatrice and Eduardo live.

“Sarah would be able to just walk a few yards and be an on-site babysitter for Sienna, who she simply adores and with Eugenie living in Portugal, it makes perfect sense.”

Princess Eugenie’s life in Portugal could also play a direct role in shaping Fergie’s future living arrangements, GB News has been told.

Their young family’s established base overseas is now being seen as a potentially significant factor as Sarah prepares to make independent accommodation plans.

Fergie is set to move out of Royal Lodge, having lived there since 2008.

Robin Edwards, a leading property expert, told the People’s Channel that Portugal’s privacy, climate and relative anonymity make it one of the most realistic overseas options for Ms Ferguson should she look beyond the UK.

He said the presence of Princess Eugenie and her family could offer a level of stability and support that would be difficult to replicate elsewhere.

Mr Edwards, a property buying agent at Curetons, said: “Portugal could also be another option, particularly as Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack and their children currently live there and have split their time between a luxury villa in Comporta and their home at Ivy Cottage in Kensington Palace since 2022.

“The warmer climate, as well as the lower profile and degree of anonymity that Portugal offers, could appeal to Sarah.”

King Charles ordered the removal of two prestigious honours previously bestowed by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The news comes as Beatrice’s father suffered a fresh double blow as King Charles ordered the removal of two prestigious honours previously bestowed on his brother.

The monarch ordered the cancellation and annulment of Andrew Albert Christian Edward Mountbatten-Windsor’s appointment as a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, which was conferred on April 23, 2006.

His name will be removed from the order’s official register.

In a parallel move, the King has also cancelled Andrew’s appointment as a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, granted on February 19, 2011. This name, too, will be struck from that order’s register.

These actions follow the removal of Andrew’s remaining titles last month, leaving him a commoner stripped of royal status.
