This year was always going to be challenging for the York family, as Netflix and Amazon’s depictions of Prince Andrew’s career-ending interview with Emily Maitlis were released.
Netflix’s film Scoop was dropped first in April with Princess Beatrice, portrayed by actress Charity Wakefield, appearing in a couple of scenes, while Princess Eugenie did not feature.
In September, Amazon’s A Very Royal Scandal was released with both the Duke of York’s daughters portrayed in the three-episode series.
However, Beatrice and Eugenie’s reputations did not take a hit following the projects by the streaming giants which focussed on their disgraced father.

Prince Andrew’s daughters were also dragged into the Duke of York’s feud with King Charles over the Royal Lodge.
The monarch has requested Andrew give up the 30-room royal residence and downsize to Frogmore Cottage.
Andrew, who signed a 75-year lease for the Royal Lodge in 2003, plans to see out the lease before passing it over to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie when he dies, according to insiders.
Whether Beatrice and Eugenie would want to inherit the lease and a row with the monarch over the residence is unknown, but the princesses are settled in their current homes with their husbands.
The Princesses of York are known to have good relationships with Prince Harry with Eugenie particularly close to the Duke of Sussex.

However, they also have a strong bond with their cousin Prince William and attended a garden party hosted by the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace in May.
It was seen as a sign of unity from the sisters to the future king despite their ties to the Sussexes.
Princess Beatrice is one of King Charles’s Counsellors of State and undertook an engagement for The King’s Foundation in November.
However, the York sisters’ Royal Family unity came under focus again this month following reports of Prince Andrew’s connection to an alleged spy.
The Duke and Duchess of York pulled out of Royal Family Christmas events and it was announced that Beatrice and Eugenie had also pulled out of attending the Christmas Day celebrations at Sandringham following their parents’ move.

However, the princesses had reportedly decided to spend Christmas Day with their in-laws prior to Andrew and Sarah Ferguson stepping back from the event.
The sisters did attend the pre-Christmas lunch alongside King Charles and several senior royals despite Andrew and Fergie’s absence.
In a late twist, Beatrice, who is expecting her second child in the Spring of 2025, was advised against long-distance travelling due to her pregnancy so opted to spend Christmas Day with the Royal Family rather than with her husband’s parents or her own parents at Royal Lodge.
