Prince William has revealed that he, Princess Kate and their children, George, Charlotte and Louis are “very much looking forward” to watching the latest series of The Traitors.

The Prince of Wales made the rare comment during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday afternoon.

His admission emerged during his conversation with television producer Stephen Lambert, who was receiving an OBE for services to television.

Mr Lambert, who founded and leads Studio Lambert, the production company responsible for The Traitors, shared details of his royal exchange following the ceremony.

“He said he and the family were very much looking forward to watching it,” Mr Lambert said excitedly.

“It was going to be a big treat for them and probably for the nation, he expected,” the producer recounted.

The prince’s candid remark is among the rare insights he and Kate have given into their family’s domestic routines, as the couple typically maintain privacy about their home life with.

Mr Lambert expressed his delight at receiving the honour, describing it as “delighted and honoured”.

He emphasised the significance of the Windsor Castle setting, noting “there’s so much history around.”

The 66-year-old executive company has created numerous successful programmes including Gogglebox, Race Across The World and Squid Game: The Challenge.

In his conversation with William, Mr Lambert also shared some of his thoughts on the upcoming series.

“I told him about the fact that our celebrities have entered into the game with great seriousness,” he said.

“So, they’re not just doing it because it’s a chance for them to be celebrities on television, but because they actually love the game.

“They are the talented people they are, so they’re also very funny, and I think it’s extremely entertaining television,” he added.

The new celebrity edition features 19 well-known personalities competing in the psychological strategy game, with Claudia Winkleman returning as host.

The cast includes Sir Stephen Fry, comedian Alan Carr, Olympic champion Tom Daley, broadcaster Clare Balding and actress Celia Imrie.

The format challenges contestants to identify hidden traitors amongst their group whilst completing tasks to build a prize fund.

Should any traitors remain undetected in the final, they claim the entire pot.

Mr Lambert’s television career spans four decades, beginning at the BBC in the early 1980s producing documentaries.

After establishing Modern Times for BBC Two in 1994, he joined RDF Media before founding Studio Lambert in 2008.
