Prince William has opened up on the pain of losing Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in a new TV interview.
The Prince of Wales discussed how much he misses his grandparents during a candid chat with Eugene Levy in a new episode of Apple TV’s The Reluctant Traveler.
William lost both his grandparents on his father’s side of the family in the space of eighteen months, as Prince Philip, 99, died in April 2021 and Queen Elizabeth II, 96, died in September 2022.
The royal also gave Mr Levy a tour of Windsor Castle during the episode that will be released on October 3.

Eugene Levy asked the Prince of Wales: “Do you miss your grandmother?”
Prince William replied: “I do actually, yeah, I do miss my grandmother, and my grandfather.
“It’s been quite a bit of change, so you do sort of, you think about them not being here anymore, and particularly being in Windsor, for me Windsor is her. She loved it here, she spent most of her time here.
“Showing you around today is very much a case of trying to make sure I’m doing it in the way she’d want you to see it.
“She had her horses here as well, as you can imagine that was a big deal for her so that’s why she loved it here.”

During the episode, Prince William reiterated that 2024 was the hardest year of his life.
The Prince of Wales told Mr Levy: “I’d say 2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had.
“You know, life is sent to test us as well, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”
The comments follow William’s November 2024 interview in South Africa, when he revealed that he was experiencing the “hardest year of his life” and said it had been “brutal” for his family.
The full interview will be released on Friday.

The Prince of Wales gave the interview following the conclusion of The Earthshot Prize award ceremony in Cape Town.
Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer in February 2024.
A month later, the Princess of Wales revealed her own cancer diagnosis in an emotional video message to the world.
Princess Kate announced in January 2025 that she was in remission, while King Charles is continuing to receive treatment for his cancer.
