Prince William hosted an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle today where 66 individuals were presented with honours for their contributions across various fields.

Among the most high-profile recipients were teenage darts sensation Luke Littler and acclaimed actress Cynthia Erivo, both collecting MBEs.

The ceremony also recognised comedian Matt Lucas, who received an OBE, alongside England footballer Ella Toone and rugby union star Sadia Kabeya, each awarded MBEs.

The diverse group of honourees represented achievements spanning sport, entertainment and the performing arts, with several recipients having made headlines in recent months for their remarkable accomplishments on the world stage.

Littler made history when he claimed the world championship at just 17 years and 347 days old, becoming the youngest player ever to lift the title.

Now 19 and sitting atop the world rankings, the prodigy has been credited alongside fellow star Luke Humphries with elevating darts to new audiences.

His MBE, awarded in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to the sport, prompted an emotional response when announced last June.

“This is an amazing and unexpected honour but one which I am very grateful for,” Littler said at the time. “To receive a recognition like this is something I had never thought would be possible and it is a proud moment.”

Erivo, a 39-year-old from Stockwell in south London, collected her MBE for services to music and drama following her inclusion in the New Year Honours.

The performer boasts an extraordinary collection of accolades, having secured a Grammy, Daytime Emmy and Tony Award, while also earning an Oscar nomination.

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she completed her acting degree in 2010, Erivo rose to global prominence portraying the green witch Elphaba opposite Ariana Grande in the film adaptation of Wicked.

“To be given this recognition to celebrate the work that I love to do within the arts, specifically music and drama, is an honour I could never have thought would happen,” she told the Press Association in December.

The comedian also served as a presenter on the Great British Bake Off from 2020 to 2023.

Toone, a two-time women’s European Championship winner, received her MBE in recognition of her services to football.

Completing the sporting honours, Kabeya was awarded her MBE for services to rugby union after helping England secure victory at the 2025 women’s Rugby World Cup.
