The Prince and Princess of Wales have a members-only private club near their new home at Forest Lodge.

William and Kate are getting settled into life in their “forever” home after it was confirmed over the weekend that they had made the move from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge.

The couple had aimed to move in by Bonfire Night, but they were able to move in a few days earlier thanks to workers on the Forest Lodge estate.

The York Club, located within the grounds of Windsor Great Park, is a members-only venue open to residents and employees connected to the Crown Estate.

The club has long served as a private social space for those living and working near Windsor Castle.

Moving marks a significant step for the couple, who had lived in Adelaide Cottage, also on the Windsor estate, since 2022.

Their new home provides more space and privacy while keeping them close to both the castle and their children’s school.

Forest Lodge itself has undergone several refurbishments over the years. In 2001, £1.5million was spent restoring its period features, including original stonework, marble fireplaces, and Venetian windows.

More recently, Prince William submitted planning applications for further alterations, which he is reported to have funded personally.

The couple held a small private event at The York Club on October 31 to thank builders and staff involved in the renovation work and early completion of their move.

Sources described the occasion as an informal gathering with drinks and light refreshments.

William is currently in Brazil to award his Earthshot Prize on Wednesday.

On Monday, the future king revealed he has extended his commitment to protect indigenous people and environmental defenders, whilst in Rio de Janeiro.

The Prince of Wales said: “Indigenous Peoples and local communities have long been protectors of the world’s most critical ecosystems.

“But today, their lives are increasingly at risk, and their lands are under mounting threats.

“If we are serious about tackling the climate crisis and restoring nature, we must stand with those who defend it.

“Building on the success of our ranger support package, we’re extending this with a new partnership to protect and assist Brazil’s frontline defenders.”
