Prince Harry is set to return to the spotlight today with a visit to a children’s hospital in Birmingham.

The Duke of Sussex spent Wednesday conducting private engagements at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, with no external journalists permitted to attend the London event.

This forms part of his five-day series of solo appearances across the country.

The decision to exclude pooled media from yesterday’s engagement was made the previous day, with organisers citing the ongoing heatwave as the reason for the change.

Harry is expected to resume allowing press coverage for his remaining scheduled events throughout the week.

The Duchess of Sussex was initially planned to accompany her husband to the Chelsea venue, but those arrangements were altered last week amid security concerns, meaning Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet remained in the United States.

The duke received news of his legal defeat on Tuesday whilst attending an Invictus Games event at Chatham House.

Mr Justice Nicklin rejected all claims of unlawful information gathering brought against Associated Newspapers Limited by Harry and several other prominent figures, including Baroness Doreen Lawrence and Sir Elton John.

Harry has faced criticism for his response to the judgment, having described it as a “complete and obvious whitewash” in a joint statement issued with Lady Lawrence.

His wife had originally been expected to join him for engagements during this UK trip, but plans were revised last week when it was determined that Meghan and their children would not travel to London over security worries.

The King and Queen are undertaking a joint engagement in central London today, whilst the Prince of Wales heads to Hastings to engage with the local fishing community and youth-led organisations.

Harry is expected to resume allowing press coverage for his remaining scheduled events throughout the week.

On Wednesday, His Majesty met officers who responded to the Bedfordshire train crash at the newly opened British Transport Police headquarters in the capital, before presenting The King’s Award for Enterprise 2026 at St James’s Palace gardens alongside the Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Queen Camilla, meanwhile, was present in the royal box at Wimbledon to witness British wildcard Arthur Fery secure a place in the semi-finals.

There remains no indication that Harry will have any meeting with his father during his current stay in Britain.
