Prince Harry disclosed during a live television appearance on Friday that his two children are devoted viewers of Junior Bake Off.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, made the revelation while speaking with presenter Alison Hammond on ITV’s This Morning programme.

“By the way, my kids love Junior Bake Off,” Harry told Ms Hammond, who co-hosts the adult version of the baking competition.

The presenter appeared genuinely taken aback by the admission, responding: “Stop it! Do they?”

Harry confirmed his seven-year-old son Archie and five-year-old daughter Lilibet were enthusiastic fans of the children’s baking programme, adding: “Absolutely love it. And I love it as well.”

The duke went on to offer a cheeky assessment of the programme compared to its adult counterpart, declaring: “It’s far better than the grown-up version.”

Ms Hammond, who took over presenting duties on The Great British Bake Off in 2023, was visibly delighted by the unexpected compliment about her work on the children’s series.

The exchange provided a lighter moment during the interview, with the presenter laughing off Harry’s playful jab at the original show.

The baking competition featuring young contestants aged nine to 15 has clearly found an audience in the Sussex household’s California home, where the family has resided since stepping back from royal duties.

The duke also shared a touching detail about his son’s hobbies during a visit to Birmingham Children’s Hospital on Thursday.

While meeting 12-year-old patient Alec Hill, Harry revealed that Archie shares a passion with the young boy.

“Do you know who’s obsessed with Lego? My son Archie – and he’s a master builder,” Harry told the youngster and his parents at the bedside.

The hospital visit marked the 20th anniversary of a specialist nursing programme run by WellChild, a charity for which Harry has served as patron since 2007. Staff reportedly surrounded the duke as he arrived, with nurses eager to greet him in the corridors.

Harry’s appearance came as part of events marking one year until the Invictus Games return to Birmingham in 2027, the first time the competition for wounded and veteran service personnel will be held in Britain since 2014.

When Ms Hammond asked whether his wife Meghan and their children were proud of his charitable endeavours, Harry responded warmly about his family.

“They don’t tell me every day that they’re proud of me. But yeah, I’m proud of them. They’re proud of me,” he said, adding simply: “I love my family.”

The Duchess of Sussex and their children are expected to join Harry privately in Britain this weekend, though they will not make public appearances.
