A road named after Andrew Mountbatten Windsor will not be renamed, despite the 65-year-old losing his royal titles, a council has confirmed.
King Charles has taken the unprecedented steps to remove all royal titles from his brother Andrew, and to serve him notice on his lease at Royal Lodge, as the scandal surrounding his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein continues.
Stotfold is home to Prince Andrew Drive, named after the former Duke of York, as well as connecting onto roads such as Queen Street, Prince Charles Avenue, Prince William Close, and Prince Harry Close.
A spokesman for the council revealed: “Changing a street name can create an inconvenience for residents given all of the paperwork and cost involved.

“If residents wish to make a change, we will support them.”
Andrew has been spared further humiliation from the Stotford Town Council, but should the residents wish to see a change, then the council will work with them.
The news comes just days after it was revealed by a royal biographer that they believe there will be no more punishments for Andrew.
Tina Brown believes any more punishments would leave Andrew with nothing but “secrets left to sell.”
Brown claimed: “Charles, I am told, is not looking to punish his pampered brother to the point, he says, that he can’t ‘cope.’
“If Charles were not to pay his brother’s bills and ensure a certain level of comfort, Andrew would have only his secrets to sell.”

She continued to say the King is, “more aware than anyone that Andrew has been served all his life by a cook, a butler, and a valet who used to accompany him on foreign trade trips, lugging a six-foot-long ironing board through the lobby of five-star hotels.
“Calling Andrew entitled is beside the point. He was raised with no economic purpose and now he finds himself as a connector to whom no one wants to be connected.”

To add to his problems, Andrew was set to get £558,000 in compensation after surrendering his lease to his Grade II 30-room mansion; however, he is going to lose some of it to extensive repair work needed at Royal Lodge.
