The Metropolitan Police has launched a murder investigation after a man was fatally stabbed in Primrose Hill.

Police were called to reports of a fight at a viewpoint on Primrose Hill at 6.41pm on Tuesday, April 7.

A 21-year-old man was attended to by London Ambulance Service.

However, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man in his 20s was found by police nearby with stab wounds.

However, his injuries were not defined as life-threatening.

The second man was taken to hospital after being found by police.

No one has been arrested, and a crime scene remains active around the area.

Superintendent Matt Cox said: “This is an utterly tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the man’s family and loved ones.

“I would like to reassure the local community that the investigation is unfolding at pace and an increased police presence will remain in the area while we carry out enquiries.

“I would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information that could help my officers to come forward.”

Police have urged anyone with information to call 101 and quote CAD 6448/07APR or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800555111.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.41pm (April 7) to reports of an incident in Primrose Hill.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic practitioner, incident response officers, and we deployed crews from London’s Air Ambulance.

“Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. A further patient was taken to a major trauma centre.”

The summit of Primrose Hill is more then 63 metres above sea levels and offers one of six protected viewpoints around London.

The trees are purposely kept short to not inhibit the views that can be seen from the top of the hill.

The popular tourism area was originally appropriated by King Henry VIII.
