Thames Valley Police has confirmed a review will take place regarding an allegation concerning Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Jeffrey Epstein.

An allegation has been made that the late financier provided Andrew with a woman to have sex with at Royal Lodge in 2010.

The woman’s US lawyer, Brad Edwards, claimed she spent the night at the then-prince’s residence in Windsor, after the allegations surfaced over the weekend.

It is further alleged that the woman, who is not British, was in her 20s at the time and was later given a tour of Buckingham Palace.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman told the Guardian: “We are aware of reports about a woman said to have been taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 for sexual purposes.

“We are assessing the information in line with our established procedures.

“We take any reports of sexual crimes extremely seriously and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

“At this time, these allegations have not been reported to Thames Valley police by either the lawyer [of the woman] or their client.”

Thames Valley Police is looking at the case as the Royal Lodge is in the area of their force.

The review does not necessarily mean a criminal investigation will take place.

Andrew has always denied wrongdoing.

The disgraced former duke’s involvement with Epstein resulted in King Charles stripping him of his titles in October last year.

The latest revelations became public after the US Department of Justice released more documents relating to Epstein on Friday.

On Tuesday, Andrew’s brother Prince Edward said it was important to “remember the victims”.

They were the first public comments by a senior royal since the latest documents were released, which included several new claims about Andrew.

Speaking in Dubai, the Duke of Edinburgh said: “I think it’s all really important, always, to remember the victims and who are the victims in all this.”
