The family of ex-This Morning host Phillip Schofield, 62, have rallied around him as he commemorates the death of his mother.
Schofield announced the death of his 88-year-old mother, Pat, last month.
The former Dancing on Ice host held a small funeral for his mother at St Michael’s Church in Newquay, Cornwall last Friday.
In a statement, the 62-year-old said: “(My) magnificent mum decided it was time to go to her beloved Brian (Schofield’s father). Over three days, we held her, loved her, hugged her, and said everything that needed to be said.”
He concluded: “She was calm, peaceful, beautiful and dignified.”
At the funeral, Schofield was joined by his wife Stephanie Lowe, and their two daughters, Ruby and Molly.

After the service, Schofield scattered the ashes of his beloved mother in the area around Newquay Beach.
While Schofield’s father Brian died in 2008, the former This Morning star chose to spare some of his ashes for that moment.
Posting a photo of a spectacular sunset on the beach, he wrote on Instagram: “When Newquay puts on a show stopping sunset on the day I sprinkle the combined and reunited ashes of mum & dad.”
In a show of public support for her embattled father, talent manager Molly liked the commemorative post.

Schofield’s family has continued to stick by him after his fall from grace last year.
In May 2023, it was revealed Schofield had pursued an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague.
Following the revelations, he left his role as co-host of ITV flagship programs This Morning and Dancing on Ice which he hosted with Holly Willoughby.
In the immediate aftermath, Schofield had been laying low with his beloved mother which allowed them time to reconnect.
The star recently returned to screens this September, marooned on a desert island for Channel 5’s Cast Away.
While stranded, Schofield confirmed he would now never return to daytime television.

Notably missing from Friday’s funeral was Schofield’s brother Timothy, 54.
Timothy Schofield was charged with sexually abusing a teenage boy in 2023 and is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence.
