Pensioner and GB News viewer Philip Hoy said:”You are I have to say, I don’t think you guys know how much hope we the normal people in Britain pin on you.
“You’re the only voice of reason that we have. I mean, OK, Reform may be coming along and let’s all hope that happens. But you have a great responsibility.

“All of these people who say that you’re biased one way or the other, I can assure you, the left-leaning people you have on your show, my wife is fed up with me shouting at them when they’re on.
“You are the most balanced programme I know. We rely on you.

“So please keep going. For God’s sake. Keep going because you’re all we’ve got.”
Hoy’s comments came while discussing Sir Keir Starmer’s controversial decision to axe Winter Fuel Payments during Labour’s first six months in power.
In July, Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced significant changes to the pensioner perk as part of measures to address public finance concerns.
The change is expected to dramatically reduce the number of pensioners receiving the payment from 11.4 million to just 1.5 million.

A Government spokesman defended the changes, stating: “Over a million pensioners will still receive the winter fuel payment, and our drive to boost pension credit take up has seen applications more than double with over 40,000 more pensioners now receiving it.”
Speaking about the impact of the Winter Fuel allowance cut, Hoy revealed its significant effect on his household finances.
The pensioner explained that the allowance “would have paid his heating for the whole of December.”

He said: “I don’t know who they [Labour] are working for, but it’s certainly not for us.
“I am a pensioner. I have not got the heating on at the moment. I’m lucky that my wife is still working so we can turn it on later.
“In all honesty I’ve got to save the pennies because it may only have been £300 but that’s normally what pays my December bill. ”
