PC Andrew Harper’s mother Debbie Adlam has issued a heartfelt plea to Prime Minister Andy Burnham as her son’s killers are set to be released early from prison.

Sitting down with GB News presenter Cristo Foufas, Ms Adlam urged the PM to “not let us down” and ensure that the two killers of her son are excluded from Labour’s early release scheme, and that they serve their “full sentence”.

She told GB News: “Please don’t let us down, we and everybody else in my situation, we all deserve better. We should not be put in this position.

“We’d be the scapegoats for the failing system, and we shouldn’t be. We shouldn’t be here. We’re just normal people, we’re not anything special, but I think we deserve better. We’ve been put into a place that we should never have been in the first place, and we’re having to live and cope with this horrific situation.

“We will never, ever live like we used to. We will never be able to get up every day and feel the way we used to. I just can’t sit back and do nothing at the moment.

“I just think it’s an extension of needing to know everything when it happened. I can’t pick and choose, it’s just a drive and it just has to be done. Even if it comes to nothing, you have to try. I know I’ve got to try.”
