Patrick Mahomes says he will accept any fine that comes his way after losing his cool at the end of the Chiefs’ defeat by the Bills on Sunday.
Mahomes lost his cool when Kansas City saw a potential game-winning touchdown against Buffalo ruled out for an offensive offside, with Kadarius Toney deemed to have been ahead of the line of scrimmage before the ball was snapped.
Toney’s touchdown would have moved the hosts 23-20 ahead with just over a minute to play, yet when the score was erased and Buffalo held on for the victory the red mist descended for Mahomes.
The Chiefs quarterback slammed his helmet to the ground and had to be restrained by teammates as his frustrations boiled over, before he told opposite number Josh Allen the decision was ‘f****ng terrible’.

However, two days on from the game Mahomes admits his behavior was out of line and he is now prepared to accept the ‘consequences’ for it.
When asked if he expects to be fined, he told 610 Sports: ‘Honestly, I don’t know. I know usually, when you talk about referees, saying stuff towards referees, it’s not a good thing. Their job is hard, they are trying to dot heir best as well.
‘Whatever happens, happens. You’ve got to accept the consequence of your actions, that’s something that I’ve always stood by.
‘I didn’t act in the way I usually act and if there’s consequences, I have to accept those.’
