Kevin the Carrot’s journey to the altar has taken a rather unexpected turn in the second instalment of Aldi’s Christmas advert.

The 50-second short film reveals the beloved vegetable strapped to the North Pole wearing nothing but a mankini, following a tumultuous stag do.

The good news for fans is that Katie said yes to his proposal. The first advert ended with a cliffhanger, leaving viewers wondering whether she’d accept Kevin’s romantic gesture.

Now we know the wedding is definitely on – if the groom can make it back in time.

While Katie enjoys a peaceful spa weekend, Kevin’s pre-wedding celebration has spiralled into chaos, leaving his wedding party scrambling to find their missing groom.

The mayhem unfolds as Kevin’s best man, Kelvin the Carrot, faces the nightmare task of ringing Katie to explain that everything has gone “pear-shaped”.

The stag party’s wild antics have left them desperately trying to piece together their night, including hints of a mysterious jaunt to Lapland.

With their groom nowhere to be found, the wedding party must work out how they ended up in this mess and race against time to track down Kevin.

Aldi’s chief commercial officer, Julie Ashfield, said: “We hope shoppers enjoy being brought on the hilariously, if not slightly chaotic, journey in the lead up to their big day.

“Packed with pure Christmas cheer, a dash of cheekiness, and all the heart our fans have come to expect from Kevin the Carrot, we can’t wait for everyone to stay tuned.”

For those who missed the first instalment, Kevin kicked off this year’s festive campaign with a romantic proposal.

The adorable scene showed him waiting outside Katie’s home in the snow, armed with cue cards for his big moment.

Their pet Caulidog played cupid, sporting the sparkling engagement ring on their collar as part of Kevin’s charming plan.

The decade-long love story reached its peak with this touching gesture, marking 10 years since the carrot couple first appeared on our screens.

Aldi kept viewers guessing about Katie’s answer, but now we know she’s said yes; whether they’ll actually make it down the aisle remains to be seen.

To celebrate the engagement and Kevin’s tenth anniversary on our screens, Aldi has launched a competition for limited-edition carrot-shaped gold engagement rings.

The unique piece features an orange cubic zirconia shaped like a carrot, surrounded by green peridot accents.

Created with British jeweller Jessica Flinn Fine Jewellery, these free rings are perfect for fans planning their own festive proposals.

It’s a playful twist on traditional proposals that proves “romance clearly outweighs price tag”.

To win one, shoppers must email [email protected] before November 19 with their name, ring size preference, and most importantly, their festive proposal ideas and reasons why their partner deserves this vegetable-inspired sparkler.

The competition has launched at the perfect time, as Britons seek cheaper engagement rings.

Aldi researchers recently discovered that people spend over £1,000 on average for these special sparklers, with 16 per cent regretting the expense.

Half of those surveyed would happily accept a £10 ring, with 43 per cent saying it’s “the meaning that matters most”.

In other festive Aldi news, the supermarket recently unveiled its biggest-ever Christmas sandwich range, including “everyone’s favourite treat”.
