National Savings and Investments (NS&I) has revealed the two Premium Bonds holders who have scooped this month’s £1million jackpot prizewo Premium Bonds holders who have scooped this month’s £1million jackpot prizes, with winners hailing from Central Bedfordshire and Liverpool.

While traditional savings accounts earn interest for customers, Premium Bond holders enter a monthly cash prize draw if they take advantage of NS&I’s most popular product.


The Central Bedfordshire winner, holding Bond number 489TB013219, bought their winning bond in February 2022. They have a £50,000 investment and have become only the second person from the area to claim the top prize.Meanwhile,

Liverpool’s newest Premium Bonds millionaire possesses the winning number 040QJ919368, purchased back in October 2004. This winner also holds £50,000 in Bonds and marks the fourth jackpot recipient from the city.

Notably, both winners had invested the maximum permitted amount of £50,000. The February draw distributed more than £408 million across 6,183,066 tax-free prizes, with over 136 billion individual £1 Bonds entered into the monthly selection.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I retail director, said: “Congratulations to our two jackpot winners from Central Bedfordshire and Liverpool, who each start February £1million richer. ERNIE has spread the love ahead of Valentine’s Day, and we hope this brings both winners and their loved ones plenty to celebrate.”

He added that the monthly payout brings cumulative winnings since the inaugural 1957 draw to £40 billion, spread across 815 million prizes over nearly seven decades.

Despite the excitement surrounding this month’s winners, NS&I is reminding Premium Bond holders to check whether they might be sitting on forgotten fortunes in their account.
