Lancashire is celebrating a run of luck after two major Lottery prizes were scooped in the county within just weeks of each other.

In early December, a couple scooped £350,000 through the The National Lottery’s Lotto HotPicks game.

The winners, who often use the same numbers when they play various National Lottery, games, expressed their astonishment at the result.

“We were gobsmacked to realise we’d won,” the couple said, according to LancsLive.

“We always use the same numbers and like to play all the games across The National Lottery.”

The lucky players have plans to buy a new car following their big win.

The good fortune continued in the county when another Lancashire resident struck lucky on EuroMillions, claiming £206,403.30.

The player took home the prize after successfully matching five numbers and a Lucky Star in the draw on January 20.

The lottery winners both took home jackpots within weeks of one and other

The woman, who only occasionally purchases a lucky dip ticket, proved her relatives wrong with her triumph.

“My family always told me that I would never win the lottery… but you have to be in it to win it,” she said.

Her prize money will fund an adventure to New Zealand, where she plans to spend time with a friend.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, which operates The National Lottery, offered his congratulations to both fortunate recipients.

“What wonderful news for our lucky Lancastrians,” Mr Carter said.

He said he hoped the winners would enjoy their respective treats.

“We hope they enjoy their new car and the trip to New Zealand,” he added.
