Nigel Farage has made a bombshell prediction that Sir Keir Starmer’s premiership is entering its “final weeks,” as the Reform UK leader warns the Peter Mandelson scandal has left the Prime Minister’s administration in a terminal “death spiral.”

Speaking on GB News, Nigel Farage predicted a swift and brutal collapse of the Labour leadership, starting with the immediate departure of the PM’s right-hand man, Morgan McSweeney, before Keir Starmer himself is forced out of Downing Street by the summer.

Nigel Farage said: “I’m going to make the prediction that McSweeney goes, because McSweeney was very much a part of this. McSweeney goes, it’ll take a few weeks, and by July the Prime Minister will be gone.”

Former Labour adviser Paul Richards said: “I don’t think that’s right for various reasons.

“One is the fact that it’s a huge Labour majority. Two, there isn’t an obvious person waiting in the wings.”

Mr Farage replied: “She was sitting on the backbenches this afternoon.”

Mr Richards said: “No, we can’t buy that. Where’s you know, unlike with Tony and Gordon, there was Gordon in the wings, looming large. We don’t have anyone like that at this point.”

Former Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng said: “I think it’ll be death by a thousand cuts. So yes, it’s a bad day for him. He won’t withstand the local elections.

“I mean, if the polls are right, Labour comes third in Wales and they’ve won Wales for 100 years. That’s the cradle, the birth of the Labour movement. Coming third there I don’t see how he survives that.”

It comes as ministers have been forced to hand over papers linked to Peter Mandelson’s appointment as US ambassador after MPs approved changes to the Government’s plans.

Downing Street had initially sought the power to withhold documents deemed “prejudicial to UK national security or international relations”.

But following pressure from backbench MPs, the Government changed course, agreeing instead that the material will be passed to Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee for scrutiny.

Peter Mandelson was sacked by Sir Keir Starmer following the release of emails showing contact between Lord Mandelson and Jeffrey Epstein.

Further reports emerged in February 2026 alleging that Lord Mandelson and his husband had received payments from Epstein, and that during 2009 and 2010 Lord Mandelson may have shared government information with him.

Gordon Brown, Britain’s Prime Minister at the time, said on Tuesday that he has written to the police with information relevant to its investigation and slammed Lord Mandelson for his “inexcusable and unpatriotic” act.

A Downing Street spokesperson said: “Peter Mandelson’s actions were unforgivable.

“He lied to the Prime Minister, hid information that has since come to light and presented Jeffrey Epstein as someone he barely knew.

“We will comply with the motion, including publishing documents relating to Peter Mandelson’s appointment, which will show the lies he told.”
