Nigel Farage declares earning £270,000 for gold bullion promotions | UK News

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has earned £270,000 for advertising gold bullion – the single biggest payment he has registered since becoming an MP.

In the list of MPs’ interests, Farage declared that the payment from Direct Bullion was for work amounting to an estimated four hours per month across a three-month period.

Labour chair Anna Turley said: “Nigel Farage clearly has the Midas touch when it comes to lining his pockets instead of doing his day job.”

A spokesman for Farage said: “As has previously been reported and declared, Nigel Farage is a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion.”

Farage has previously registered payments from the company, including one of £91,200 in February 2025 and another of £135,000 in November 2025.

In the most recent set of declarations, he recorded an estimated £18,402 for his work as a presenter on GB News.

The Clacton MP has faced growing questions about his finances – specifically an undeclared £5m gift he received from cryptocurrency investor and billionaire Christopher Harborne.

Farage has argued he did not need to declare the gift because he received it before he was elected to Parliament and that it was not a political donation.

The Parliamentary Standards Commissioner is investigating whether he broke the rules.

Farage had previously registered more than £80,000 from filming personalised messages for individuals on the Cameo website.

However, in March of this year he said he would be pausing the service, citing security reasons.

MPs are allowed to take on second jobs separate to their work as an MP however, they must record income which exceeds £300 per year. They are not allowed to provide paid parliamentary advice.

Turley said: “He should be focused on putting more pounds back in his Clacton constituents’ pockets rather than racking up payments off the back of gold sales.”
