Nigel Farage has shared a heartfelt Christmas message after delivering festive gifts to his constituents in Clacton.

The Reform UK leader, who recorded his message at The Three Jays pub in Jaywick, embarked on a delivery tour yesterday and visited a number of organisations around his seaside seat.

Mr Farage started his delivery blitz by meeting vulnerable young people at Seaside Care Homes and dropping off a tranche of Christmas presents.

The Reform UK leader was then spotted at Pier Avenue Butchers, with two bags worth of meat being delivered to local ambulance crews at Clacton Ambulance Station.

Mr Farage joined Sir Keir Starmer as the latest politician to participate in the “6-7” meme moments later, leaving children at FC Clacton elated by making the playful hand gesture.

He also visited other local establishments, including The Greek and Codgers of Clacton.

In his Christmas message, Mr Farage said: “Here in the Clacton constituency, delivering gifts to kids in the homes.

“And, oh boy, you know, if you’ve got problems in your life, think about some of these youngsters and what they’ve gone through.

“Then, of course, we’ve been out and collecting gifts from the butcher so the ambulance crews can have a really good meal on Christmas Day.

“And just going out, round the community, and feeling very much that they were actually very pleased for the local MP to make the effort, to come to see them.

“And to FC Clacton, where lots and lots of screaming kids were looking forward to a really big sit-down meal.

“A lot of those kids, foster kids, et cetera, and for them to all be together. And wasn’t it joyous?

“And that’s what Christmas, I think, for many of us, is about.”

Mr Farage also shared snaps and footage from his delivery tour on social media.

Clacton’s iconic pier now features a festive fir tree and two Christmas spruces inside the arcade.

The Three Birds pub was also decorated for the festive season, with a nutcracker cut-out appearing beneath a Union Jack.

Concluding his Christmas message, Mr Farage added: “It’s a happy Christmas to everybody here in the Clacton constituency and around the rest of the country too.”

The Reform UK leader released his Christmas message shortly after the Prime Minister opened up about loss and grief during the festive period.

“At this time of the year, which celebrates love and abundance, loss or hardship can feel even more acute,” Sir Keir said.

The Prime Minister lost his younger brother Nick Starmer last Christmas following a battle with cancer.

Meanwhile, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch revealed the past 13 months have exposed her to the “biggest challenge of my life”.

She added: “Christmas is a chance to reflect on the year that’s been, be grateful for the good things, mourn what we may have lost, and look forward to what we are going to do in the coming year.

“With that in mind, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported me during my first year as Leader of the Opposition.”

However, Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey struck a different tone, taking aim at “right-wing conspiracy theorists” for criticising the Norwegian spruce erected at Trafalgar Square.
