Nelson Peltz has publicly broken his silence on the ongoing rift between his daughter Nicola and the Beckham family for the first time.

The 83-year-old billionaire businessman spoke during a question-and-answer session at WSJD’s Invest Live event in West Palm Beach on Tuesday.

Mr Peltz stated: “My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story and that’s not for coverage here today.”

He continued: “But I’ll tell you my daughter is great, my son-in-law Brooklyn is great and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.”

When questioned about whether he offers guidance to the couple, he responded: “I do. Sometimes they give me advice.”

The remarks from Mr Peltz follow a dramatic public statement from Brooklyn Beckham late last month, in which the 26-year-old declared he had no desire to mend relations with his parents.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Brooklyn levelled serious accusations against Sir David, 50, and Lady Victoria, 51, claiming they had deliberately attempted to sabotage his marriage to Nicola.

He wrote that he had been “controlled by a family that values public promotion above all else” throughout his life, adding that since distancing himself from his parents, he has experienced “peace and relief” after struggling with severe anxiety.

Brooklyn’s statement contained a series of specific allegations against his parents.

He claimed Victoria cancelled plans to design Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute, leaving his wife scrambling to find an alternative gown.

He also alleged that in the weeks preceding their 2022 wedding, his parents pressured him and attempted to bribe him into signing over the rights to his name, which would have affected him, Nicola and any future children.

Perhaps most strikingly, Brooklyn accused his mother of hijacking his first dance with Nicola, claiming Victoria “danced very inappropriately” on him in front of their 500 wedding guests.

The financial disparity between the two families is substantial, with Mr Peltz’s fortune estimated at $1.6 billion (£1.2billion) compared to the Beckhams’ combined wealth of approximately $680 million (£530 million).

David and Victoria have remained largely silent since their eldest son’s public accusations.

The couple, along with their other children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, instead presented a united front at Haute Couture Fashion Week last week.

Brooklyn’s statement had declared that he and Nicola seek only “peace, privacy and happiness” for themselves and their future family, rejecting what he described as a life “shaped by image, press, or manipulation.”

Mr Peltz is the first member of the Peltz or Beckham family to directly address the feud since Brooklyn’s bombshell statement, although David appears to have alluded to it.

Sir David made his first comments on CNBC’s Squawk Box in Davos, Switzerland, on January 20.

The former footballer said his children had “made mistakes” and stated: “I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media… For the good and for the bad.

“What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous. But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.

He then turned attention back to a charity, saying: “I’ve been able to use my platform for my following, for Unicef.”

When reporters later asked if he was disappointed or had a specific message for Brooklyn, Sir David declined to answer, smiling as he moved through the crowd.

Victoria has not spoken out since the statement and she seems to be focused on her professional life and career.

Her first post after it dropped was a birthday tribute to fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton.

Cruz, Brooklyn’s youngest brother, appears to have used the renewed spotlight on his family to promote new music from his band, The Breakers.

Meanwhile, Romeo has been keeping a low profile on social media, mainly documenting his modelling career and life with his girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.
