Newcatle Red Bulls have continued their recruitment drive for next season by signing winger Obi Ene from Sale Sharks.

Ene will join Newcastle on a two-year deal, having scored seven tries in his 13 appearances for Sale.

The 22-year-old is the 18th player that Red Bulls have recruited for 2026-27 as they look to rebuild and strengthen their squad.

A former Newcastle university student, Ene is also the third Sale player to be heading to the north east following scrum-half Raffi Quirke and prop James Harper.

“Having spoken to the guys up at Newcastle it’s clear the level of ambition they have, and I’m buzzing to get up there and rip in,” he said., external

Newcastle, currently bottom of the Prem, resume their league campaign away to leaders Northampton Saints on Saturday (15:00 GMT).
