The National Lottery has issued an urgent appeal as a massive £10.6million jackpot remains unclaimed in London.

A resident of Bexle, in the south-east of the capital, could be sitting on a fortune without realising it.

The winning entry, which matched all six numbers in the October 4, 2025, Lotto draw — 06, 08, 12, 33, 49 and 59 — was bought somewhere in the borough.

With the 180-day claim window closing on April 2, just over a fortnight remains for the mystery ticket holder to come forward.

Allwyn, which operates the National Lottery, has launched a hunt to locate the winner before the deadline passes.

Kathy Garrett, winners’ advisor at Allwyn, said: “We want nothing more than to unite the winner with their life-changing prize. We really want to pay this out. We’ve got the champagne ready.”

She added that prizes of this magnitude rarely go unclaimed.

Ms Garrett urged anyone who purchased a ticket in the Bexley area to rummage through furniture cushions, coat pockets and storage drawers to locate any forgotten entries.

Those who opted for a lucky dip selection may be particularly unaware of their good fortune, she noted.

“Someone in the Bexley area is sitting on a £10.6million prize, and they don’t know it,” the Allwn official said.

National Lottery staff will descend on Bexley on Wednesday in a final push to locate the missing millionaire, encouraging locals to hunt through old tickets they may have tucked away.

Should the rightful owner fail to materialise before the April 2 cut-off, the entire £10.6million prize fund will be redirected to charitable initiatives supported by the National Lottery’s good causes programme.

It comes as a Briton claimed a huge £181 million prize in last week’s EuroMillions draw

If the winner is found, it could continue a lucky streak for British players after one ticket-holder in the UK claimed a huge £181million prize in last week’s EuroMillions draw.

The massive windfall represents the third-largest jackpot ever won in Britain through the National Lottery.

National Lottery operator Allwyn confirmed that one player successfully matched all five main numbers along with both Lucky Star numbers.

The precise sum won totals £181,073,415.70.

In addition to the top-three UK ranking, the win marks the largest lottery windfall recorded in 2026 so far.

Two other British players also secured significant prizes in the same draw, with one taking home £355,164.90 and another winning £16,601.50.

The winning main numbers drawn were 12, 14, 27, 44, and 50, with Lucky Star numbers 04 and 12.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, said: “Brilliant news, someone in the UK has scooped a life-changing £181million. With that size fortune, this lucky winner would have wealth on a par with the likes of Adele (worth an estimated £170million). Just imagine the kind of lifestyle that could unlock.”
