A Filipino couple who made Scotland their home have scooped a £1million jackpot on a National Lottery Instant Win Game.

Arsenio Navarro Jr, 36, relocated to Greenock alongside his wife Reyna, 38, after securing a position as a specialist welder with BAE Systems.

The pair, who have spent 15 years together, had been diligently saving for a property while settling into their adopted country.

They have embraced Scottish life, exploring the landscape and sampling local cuisine and beverages.

Now their fortunes have transformed dramatically after landing the life-changing prize, which they described as bringing them immense joy.

Despite their newfound wealth, the couple insists they have no interest in extravagant purchases or luxury getaways.

Arsenio said: “We love the local produce here in Scotland so the idea I could eat a Scottish steak every day if I wanted was one of my first million pound dreams.”

He added: “We’re not ones for lavish spending or luxury holidays, the small things make us happy. Good Scottish food, simple comforts, that’s enough for us.”

The couple’s priority is finding their ideal family home in a country they have grown to love.

Arsenio spoke of how the welcoming locals and stunning scenery quickly made them feel at home, describing Greenock as both hospitable and fortunate for them.

Reyna revealed that the couple had often fantasised about a lottery win, and she had encouraged her husband to try his luck.

She said: “I told Arsenio, ‘If you want to win, you have to play!'”

He downloaded the National Lottery app in November and began playing occasionally as a small indulgence, picking up modest wins along the way.

Then came the moment that changed everything when he tried the “£1 Million Colour Collector Instant Win Game” and claimed the top prize.

Reyna said: “I honestly thought we were dreaming.”

The reality only sank in after speaking with National Lottery officials to confirm their extraordinary fortune.

The windfall means the hardworking pair can finally ease their demanding schedules and enjoy more quality time as a couple.

Reyna said: “Some nights we don’t see each other at all. I get home at 8pm, and Arsenio leaves for his night shift at 5.30pm.”

Arsenio added: “Maybe now I won’t need to work overtime.”

Both intend to remain in employment but with reduced hours, allowing them to build the life together that their conflicting shifts had previously made difficult.

The couple has said they are eagerly anticipating a trip to the Philippines to share their remarkable news and celebrate with relatives back home.

Meanwhile, a EuroMillions ticket holder has finally stepped forward to claim their £1million prize after lottery officials launched a public appeal to track them down.

The missing winner, confirmed to be from the West Sussex area, had finally been located.

The prize was secured through the UK Millionaire Maker draw held on January 2 with the ticket matching the required numbers to scoop the seven-figure sum.
