Nat Barr has clasped her hands in sorrow after hearing a sad tale about a Melbourne couple who had over $15,000 worth of belongings, including cherished photo albums, stolen in a brazen daylight robbery.
Joanna Sinz and Archie Grant were saying their goodbyes to family in Fitzroy on Tuesday afternoon ahead of a move interstate.
They had parked both of their cars, which were stuffed full of personal belongings for the move, on the street while they said their farewells.
But they were horrified to later spot Ms Sinz’s bag on the ground as two thieves ransacked their vehicles.
The perpetrators smashed the window of the first car and nicked the spare keys from the glovebox before making breaking into their black Subaru XV sedan parked on a nearby street.
The couple sprinted over and attempted to foil the robbery but they were too late.
Ms Sinz managed to yank one of the perpetrators’ shoes off before they sped away as her boyfriend tried to remonstrate with them.
‘I just remember yelling out “This is everything, this is all we’ve got … don’t take it”,’ Mr Grant told 7News.

Everything the couple owned was inside the Subaru, including a TV, laptop and iPad worth up to $15,000 and cherished items such as family photos.
They told Barr on Thursday morning that Victoria Police had found the car but none of their belongings had been retrieved.
‘Completely empty, not even any photos they wanted to leave behind,’ Ms Sinz said.
The Sunrise host was dumbfounded by the couple’s loss.
‘Oh, they took your photos?’, asked Barr as she clasped her hands and winced.
‘I’m so sorry guys,’ she added.
Daily Mail Australia approached Victoria Police for comment.
