A suspect accused of murdering a man is alleged to have dumped his dismembered body parts in Glasgow and Loch Lomond.
David McColl, from Glasgow, allegedly used sharply bladed and serrated instruments to attack Graham Wright, 38, at a property in the city’s Gorbals area between 20 August and 13 September.
Court papers claim that the 50-year-old, by means unknown to the prosecutor, caused Mr Wright to become “fatally injured.”
The allegations say he then “dismembered” Mr Wright and “disarticulated” his body – which means amputating limbs at the joints.
A second charge states that Mr McColl attempted to defeat the ends of justice.
The allegations say he disposed of Mr Wright’s body in secret in a wooded area in the city’s Castlemilk as well as Loch Lomond.
Mr McColl also faces two charges of breaching bail.
He made no plea at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court and he will appear at court again within the next eight days.
Another man, John Roarty, 54, appeared in the same court last Thursday also accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
He will appear at court again this week.
