A dispute has broken out between Suits actor Wendell Pierce and royal biographer Angela Levin over allegations about Meghan Markle’s behaviour during her time on the legal drama.

Mr Pierce delivered a forceful response after Ms Levin suggested the Duchess of Sussex had been “difficult, demanding and rude” while working on the series.

Posting on social media platform X on Wednesday, the actor described Ms Levin as a “shameless hack” and “gossip monger” for making the claims.

The disagreement emerged as the Duchess, 44, prepares for her first acting role in eight years.

She has been cast in a new film featuring Lily Collins, Brie Larson and Jack Quaid, marking her return to the screen following her departure from acting when she joined the Royal Family.

Ms Levin alleged that Meghan “won’t love being told what to do by any producer” in the upcoming project.

She also claimed that during Meghan’s time on Suits, fellow cast members had found her “difficult, demanding and rude” despite being “only a starter then”.

Mr Pierce rejected the claims, writing on X: “You have no idea what you are talking about.”

He accused the royal biographer of being “a gossip monger looking to profit off of smearing a woman you know nothing about.”

He continued: “You Angela are a shameless hack. I’m more mad at myself for allowing you to get under my skin.”

Mr Pierce defended Meghan’s character and professionalism, saying: “a kind, giving, and talented artist who I enjoyed working with for years.”

He added that he would focus on remembering their positive working relationship: “Her grace is something you know nothing about.”

Meghan portrayed paralegal Rachel Zane across seven seasons of Suits, from the show’s launch in 2011 until her exit in 2018.

Her character became a central figure in the series, which followed a group of lawyers at a fictional New York law firm. She left the programme ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.

The series continued for one additional season following her departure, concluding in 2019.

Her upcoming film role marks a return to the entertainment industry after stepping back from acting to become a working member of the Royal Family.

Before joining Suits, the Duchess had appeared in films including Horrible Bosses, Get Him To The Greek and Remember Me, alongside various small television roles.

Mr Pierce’s intervention reflects the strong loyalty held by many former Suits cast members, several of whom have spoken warmly about Meghan in recent years.

The show’s ensemble was known for its close-knit working dynamic, with castmates attending Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding in 2018.

The dispute highlights the continued public and media scrutiny surrounding Meghan’s professional and personal life, even after several years away from acting.

Her new project has attracted significant attention as she re-enters the film industry while continuing to balance work linked to charitable initiatives and media production.

Neither Meghan nor her representatives have responded publicly to Ms Levin’s claims.
