Meghan Markle has posted unseen photos of Archie with his father, Prince Harry, and his sister, Lilibet, to mark his seventh birthday.

The young prince is celebrating his special day today, Wednesday, May 6.

Meghan and Harry follow a tradition set by the Prince and Princess of Wales by posting new photos of their children to mark their birthday.

The post, which includes two new photos, is accompanied with the caption: “7 years later…happy birthday to our sweet boy”.

The first photo depicts a newborn Archie, laying on the chest of Harry in what could be Frogmore Cottage – the Sussex’s former residence in Windsor before they moved to the US.

On the second picture, Archie can be seen with sister Lilibet, four, walking on a picturesque beach.

Celebrations for Archie’s birthday come less than a week after the William and Catherine celebrated the 11th birthday of Charlotte, posting a a photo of the young royal smiling as she strolls through a field of daisies.

However, plans for the two joyous occasions are likely to be markedly different, with Archie celebrating some 5,000 miles away from his cousins in London.

Archie was born on May 6, 2019, at London’s Portland Hospital, rather than the traditional Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital. The family moved to the US merely months later, where they currently reside in Montecito, California.

So while the youngster was actually born in Windsor, he has grown up in the US.

Last year, for Archie’s sixth birthday, Meghan released a sweet photo of the young prince watching the sunset.

She also later revealed they hosted a party for the youngster, while Lilibet was treated with a dream trip to Disneyland.

According to royal biographer Omid Scobie, it was actually the birth of Archie that gave Meghan and Harry the reason to leave the Royal Family.

He claims their first child gave them the courage “to stand up for what was right for them, regardless of what the consequences”.

“As we have seen, those consequences have been pretty major,” he said.

King Charles has met his grandson just a handful of times, although it is suggested he is keen to rebuild his relationship with both Archie and Lilibet. He has met his granddaughter just once.

However, the duke and duchess’s unprecedented decision to ditch the Royal Family and the UK altogether is said to have left the late Queen Elizabeth II “heartbroken” knowing she would not get the chance to watch her great-grandchildren grow up.
