Investors: Luther actor Elba, 52, and his wife Sabrina, 35
A Firm backed by Idris Elba that makes meal replacements for those who do not want to cook has seen sales and profits soar.
Huel, which sells drinks and bars stuffed full of protein, fibre, fats and other essential nutrients, almost trebled profits to £13.8million in the year to July 31. Sales rose 16 per cent to £214million.
Founded in 2015, Huel targets health-conscious millennials, commuters and those who are too busy to cook meals.
In 2022, Luther actor Elba, 52, and his wife Sabrina, 35, (pictured) backed Huel in a £20million fundraising.
James McMaster, who has been chief executive since 2017, said ‘the future for Huel is bright’.
He said the business is primed to cash-in on consumers who want to start health kicks in the New Year.
